Trailer Breakdowns - Venom and Deadpool 2 - Our guest reviewer is back...

It was certainly a big week for trailer drops with a first look at 'Venom' starring Tom Hardy, and a second trailer drop for Deadpool 2, giving us our first look at Cable.  We have attached the trailers below as well in case you fancy a refresher (and why wouldn't you with the Deadpool trailer, it's awesome!).

Well, we have some quick trailer breakdowns, once again provided by James Oliver.  Take it away...

Deadpool 2

Thus far Ryan Reynolds has pulled no shortage of punches with his promotional material for Deadpool 2; we were treated to an extended preview at the end of last year which didn't end well for the so called damsel in distress, with the potty mouthed merc proving just how difficult it is to do a quick change in a phone booth, then in January he paid homage to Bob Ross in what can only be described as a true masterpiece in itself and now we have our first look at Josh Brolin as Cable.

What starts as your typical introduction to his origin story is quickly cut short by Deadpool who is infuriated with the lack of special effects included, throwing a well deserved dig at Justice League and a certain moustache whilst he's at it.

A couple of minutes of Reynolds horsing around with the action figures of himself and Cable ensue before the trailer resumes, bringing with it a lot of Cable kicking ass and his own brand of foul language, again a true spectacle to behold with an official release date of May 2018...it can't come quick enough.

Venom

This trailer couldn't be anymore of a tease if it tried to be, showing mere seconds of the symbiote bonding with Tom Hardy before cutting away to some other (what I personally feel are generic) scenes, including Hardy speeding through traffic on a motorbike which causes a major collision, all the while self narrating about the fact everyone has their own demons.

Tom Holland has been confirmed to be appearing as a cameo but whether its suited up as Spiderman is yet to be seen. We know the main antagonist will be Cletuce Cassidy aka Carnage which (if done right and the age appropriate certificate be given.... We're all screaming for a 15) could result in something truly special indeed.

There's also the small matter that this film has been said to not be a part of the MCU, however in my opinion you can't have Tom Holland appear and not have it tie in in some way, whether it's pre or post Infinity War, again, remains to be seen. If its post infinity war you'd hope they make a reference or introduce the symbiote in Infinity War just to tie things up nicely.

But until more trailers and concrete facts are known we'll just have to wait and see.
